About
The Lemonaid & ChariTea Foundation is a German nonprofit organization founded in 2010 alongside the Lemonaid and ChariTea beverage companies. Based in Hamburg, it supports social and economic development projects in communities where the ingredients used in the beverages are produced, with a focus on creating better opportunities for people in the Global South.
Its funding supports projects in areas such as education, healthcare, sustainable agriculture, gender equality and economic empowerment. The foundation receives a portion of the proceeds from Lemonaid and ChariTea products and directs the money toward partner organizations working at the local level. Projects have included schools, healthcare services, agricultural cooperatives, women's empowerment initiatives and programs that help communities develop more sustainable livelihoods. This model connects consumer purchases with longer-term community development and aims to strengthen locally led solutions.
