Transforming lives through generosity
Worship for Change, a non-for-profit organization, has lent support to six nursing homes in Nigeria by donating ₦36.75 million in total to aid the orphans, vulnerable children, and people living with disabilities. The event that took place in Lagos, was led by Pastor Wale Adenuga, the founder of the group as he urged the awardees to persist with the transformative work they do.

Each of the hoes which includes, Agbedare Jesus Care Foundation (Oyo), Bethesda School for The Blind (Lagos), Gilead Initiatives (Ikorodu), Flora Trust Foundation (Lagos), Jesus Orphanage (Rivers), and Gold Gate Michika (Adamawa) received ₦6.125 million to enhance their services. The funds were raised through the Green Worship concert on October 1, which is a concert designed to aid the needy.
“This year’s donation marks an 11% increase from the ₦33 million raised last year,” Adenuga said while he drew attention to the overwhelming support of the donors.
He also noted the considerable difficulties a lot of care homes have, like the ever increasing demand for educational and medical services for children with disabilities.

Some beneficiaries have received relief with this donation, particularly those who have been undergoing severe financial distress. For James Tumba, a founder of Gold Gate Mission in Adamawa, the donation “helped alleviate the burden of constant worrying.”
He further described the problem as how his orphanage, which is an orphanage that mainly caters to children yielded from the insurgency, struggled with having no funds for paying school fees and were severely deficient in housing.
“While being hopeful, I requested the school to let me have some more time to pay the fees. Thanks to this donation, I am now able to clear the dues and fully expand our facility to accept more children.” He stated.
Allowing the children and the elderly foundation members to appreciate the donations made in terms of improving shelter for the disabled children was almost effortless like with Mrs. Agbedare Beatrice Adenike the founder of Agbedare Jesus Care Foundation, who said funds are always welcome. She announced that plans were already in place where boys and girls would have separate living spaces while also expanding classrooms.
Other beneficiaries expressed similar sentiments while noting how the money would help in covering the high level of care needed, providing therapy materials, medical aid, and making outreach efforts for disabled children to help much needed support services.
Since its establishment in 2006, Worship for Change has raised approximately ₦160 million for charitable causes. Pastor Adenuga praised all contributors, from individual donors to corporate sponsors and emphasized that it is only through an effort can we recognise our collective responsibility to support these charities and make life easier for them.
The organization’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian efforts continues to create lasting change, ensuring that vulnerable children across Nigeria receive the support and resources they need to thrive.
