About The Grant

The International Organisation for Migration (IOM), in partnership with Accelerating Youth-Led Action in Addressing Climate Mobility in Africa, is calling for applications to award grants to youth-led society organisations in Africa. IOM is a United Nations agency focused on migration and related development issues, and is leading this programme to support young changemakers to address climate change and environmental disasters in Africa. 

The initiative focuses on equipping youth-led civil society organisations with the skills, knowledge, and networks to develop, implement, or scale community-driven solutions that address climate mobility, disasters and environmental shifts.

Who Can Apply

  • Youth-led Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) with registration and operations on the African continent. 
  • The youth-led organisations must have leadership persons of not more than 35 years at the time of application.
  • CSOs must submit their applications directly.

Sector or thematic focus: Climate mobility solutions intersecting climate change, human mobility, disaster risk reduction, environmental sustainability, and social inclusion.  

Application Process

  • Review and complete the application form on the official website and attach all necessary documents. 
  • Documents to include:
  • Civil society registration form
  • Reports of previous relevant projects led by the group
  • CV and passport ID of the youth in charge of the project
  • Signed declaration form
  • Send an email with the completed form to ccmd-queries@iom.int 
  • Successful applicants are notified and enrolled in programme activities, including webinars and workshops scheduled later in 2026.

  • Proof of organisational legal registration.
  • Evidence of organisational youth-led status.
