Personnel from legal firm Digby Brown have set a new charity fundraising record after generating £59,506 for local causes across Scotland last year.
The latest figure surpasses the firm’s previous record of £52,000 set in 2023. Employees from all seven Digby Brown offices organised and participated in a series of events and challenges throughout the year.
Fundraising through feats and community events
According to a report by Scottish Legal News, a Glasgow-based team conquered Ben Lomond in August, battling rain and high winds. Innes Laing from the Kirkcaldy office completed the London Marathon in 22-degree heat.
Staff also undertook Kiltwalk challenges in Dundee, Edinburgh, and Glasgow. Lee Murray, based in Ayr, finished the gruelling River Ayr Way Ultra, a mammoth 40-mile route.
Other initiatives included a bumper race night held by the Aberdeen office and a festive workshop hosted by the Inverness team.
Annmarie Rocks, Charity Development Manager at Digby Brown, explained their excitement.
“We are thrilled with the fantastic amount of money raised last year. It hammers home how dedicated our people are to giving back and truly reflects how much our local communities matter to everyone here.”
Digby Brown leadership praises dedicated staff effort
The firm’s Chief Executive, Fraser Oliver, added that as a firm, ensuring they make a difference both in and out of the courtroom matters.
He noted that their people champion causes close to their hearts, supporting their chosen charities through efforts big and small nearly every week. This commitment, he said is central to who they are.
He further offers sincere congratulations to all who took part or supported these efforts behind the scenes.
In another development, Jersey Royals have raised £1,900 for a local food and nutrition charity through a potato adoption scheme organised by the Jersey Royal Company. The scheme invited island residents to adopt rows of potatoes, with proceeds supporting Caring Cooks’ work helping people facing financial hardship in Jersey.
Similarly, Citi Foundation announced a $35 million Request for Proposals (RFP) for its 2026 Community Finance Initiative, recognizing the important role that community organizations play in helping households navigate these financial pressures. Through this iteration of the initiative, 70 nonprofits will each receive $500,000 to advance the financial resilience of households across the U.S.
