Barzani Charity Foundation aid delivery in Western Kurdistan
Barzani Charity foundation’s latest intervention reached thousands of displaced families during a seven-day reporting period. This is according to the organisation’s sixth operational report covering activities through Thursday at 12:00 p.m.
The foundation organised the operation through a coordinated logistics and field distribution effort across multiple sectors. It focused on emergency food support, fuel provision, healthcare services, and institutional assistance for community facilities.
BCF President Musa Ahmad outlined the scope of the aid operation during a press conference in Erbil on Friday. He explained that the aid campaign reached 7,475 families and extended support to 160 schools and nine mosques as part of its community-based programs.
Fuel distribution represented a major component of the response due to winter conditions affecting displaced communities. The foundation delivered 241,632 litres of diesl fuel to 6,850 refugee families across western Kurdistan.
The fuel support also extended to public institutions to maintain essential services. As a result, 178 schools and 10 mosques received diesel supplies for heating and operational needs.
Food assistance formed another pillar of the intervention, particularly for displaced children and families. The foundation distributed 25, 589 hot meals across 69 schools and five mosques serving vulnerable populations.
Healthcare services also expanded during the same period through targeted outreach initiatives. Medical teams provided examinations and treatments to 3,541 individuals in 47 schools across several locations.
Ahmad stated that the organisation deployed 255 trucks and 478 workers to execute the operation. He added that the scale of mobilisation allowed the foundation to reach both households and publiv facilities efficiently.
The activities took place between Jan 22 and Jan 29.
Humanitarian agencies have continued to highlight the pressure on displaced communities in northern Syria. Similar concerns have appeared in Charity Journal’s coverage of emergency responses.
