The Role
Maggie’s is hiring a Centre Fundraiser to support fundraising activity across both its Edinburgh and Fife centers. Based primarily at the Edinburgh location, this role includes occasional travel to Fife and requires flexibility for local travel and irregular hours when needed.
Working closely with the Centre Fundraising Manager, you will help implement local fundraising plans that contribute to both financial and community engagement targets. This role focuses on donor recruitment, supporter care, and building meaningful relationships with individuals, businesses, and community groups while representing the mission and impact of Maggie’s in the region.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Strategy and Leadership
- Support the planning and delivery of the center’s overall fundraising approach within the local area
- Assist in executing fundraising activities that contribute to income and engagement goals
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure national fundraising campaigns are effectively supported at the local level
- Help monitor, evaluate, and report on fundraising performance and outcomes
- Provide administrative support related to fundraising activities and events
Donor Engagement and Major Gifts
- Help recruit, retain, and nurture relationships with existing supporters and new donors
- Research and develop connections with individuals, local businesses, and community groups
- Deliver excellent supporter care that builds loyalty and long-term engagement
- Communicate with supporters through presentations, written correspondence, phone calls, and in-person meetings
- Occasionally support cash handling, banking, and income processing in partnership with the Supporter Care team
Campaign Culture and Ecosystem Building
- Represent the purpose, values, and impact of Maggie’s within the local community
- Support local and central fundraising initiatives and campaigns
- Ensure all communications are personal, inspiring, and aligned with Maggie’s voice and mission
- Contribute to a collaborative and supportive fundraising environment within the center
Requirements
- Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience
- At least two years of work experience with transferable skills
- Experience raising funds in a community setting or background in related areas such as marketing, PR, sales, or project coordination
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident IT and administrative skills
- Ability to travel locally and work flexible hours when required
