Swift Sports Organisation is a community-based nonprofit working in Wakiso District, Uganda, to support disadvantaged children and young people through sport, practical skills, and community programs. Founded in 2018 and formally registered as a CBO, the organization focuses on using natural talent in netball, football, and rugby as pathways to personal development, opportunity, and income generation.
The Role
Swift Sports Organisation is seeking an experienced and independent professional to collaborate in the leadership, development, and management of the organization’s programs and administration. This role is designed for someone passionate about grassroots community work in Africa and skilled in building partnerships, securing funding, and strengthening organizational systems.
Working alongside the local team, you will help guide strategy, expand networks, and support the establishment of a recreation and skills center that integrates sports, practical training, and community initiatives. The position begins with a short-term agreement intended to assess transparency, shared commitment, and implementation capacity.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Strategy and Leadership
Support organizational development, governance, and administrative systems
Contribute to strategic planning for programs, projects, and the proposed recreation center
Guide compliance, documentation, and continuity of CBO registration requirements
Strengthen internal coordination and leadership capacity
Donor Engagement and Major Gifts
Identify funding opportunities and assist in proposal development and donor outreach
Build relationships with international partners, networks, and aligned organizations
Support affiliation, collaboration, and partnership-building efforts
Help position the organization for sustainable financial support
Campaign Culture and Ecosystem Building
Represent the organization’s mission in local and international spaces
Promote sports, skills development, and community programs as tools for poverty reduction
Mentor and support the local team in program growth and delivery standards
Encourage transparency, accountability, and shared leadership across the organization
Requirements
Experience supporting or establishing community-based organizations or nonprofits
Background in fundraising, networking, and partnership development
Strong administrative, organizational, and leadership skills
Passion for grassroots development work, particularly in African communities
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a local volunteer-led team
Professional maturity, integrity, and commitment to service delivery
