The Role

Look Ahead is hiring a Senior Support Worker to join its Mental Health Service in Kensington and Chelsea. This full-time role focuses on supporting vulnerable individuals to manage their housing arrangements, build independence, and move toward stable community living through flexible, person-centered support.

Working across scattered sites, the Senior Support Worker will manage a caseload, complete assessments, create tailored support plans, and help customers develop practical life skills while working closely with internal teams and external housing partners.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Strategy and Leadership

  • Manage a caseload of customers assigned by the Team Leader or Manager
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of needs and potential risks
  • Develop individualized support and action plans based on assessments
  • Support customers in progressing toward greater independence and stable housing

Donor Engagement and Major Gifts

  • Assist customers with domestic tasks and independent living skills
  • Support customers through their identified move-on pathways
  • Liaise with Tower Hamlets HOST and Clearing House to coordinate housing support
  • Deliver flexible and tailored support packages based on customer needs

Campaign Culture and Ecosystem Building

  • Encourage customer involvement in community and local activities
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team-focused environment
  • Maintain calm, resilient, and professional support during challenging situations
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and inclusive practices across the service

Requirements

  • Experience within the social care or charity sector is desirable
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification is desirable
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Customer-focused and compassionate approach
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic and diverse environments
  • Resilient and adaptable attitude when supporting individuals with complex needs
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Legal right to work in the UK, as sponsorship is not available
