WFP Capacity Building for Family Farmers in Peru – Apply Now

The World Food Programme is calling on organizations with demonstrated agricultural development experience to implement a targeted capacity-building initiative for smallholder farmers and collection centers in the Ayacucho region of Peru. The program directly supports Peru’s Family Farming Public Procurement Law and represents a tangible investment in building a more resilient, market-connected food system in one of the country’s most agriculturally active highland regions.

About the WFP Family Farmer Capacity Building Program

Administered by the World Food Programme through its UN Partner Portal, the program positions qualified implementing organizations as technical partners responsible for delivering training, agricultural extension, and supply chain strengthening to smallholder farmers. The initiative is framed around three interconnected goals: improving farmer productivity and food safety practices, building the operational capacity of collection centers that aggregate and distribute locally grown produce, and increasing market access for family farmers supplying public food programs. The program supports Peru’s broader legal framework for inclusive agricultural procurement and sits within WFP’s wider work on food systems in the Andean region.
