About the Haven
Haven is a nonprofit organization serving survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, and sex trafficking in Gallatin County. Since 1979, Haven has provided survivor-centered services, advocacy, prevention programs, and community education, empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their own paths to safety and healing while working to prevent future violence through awareness and outreach.
The Role
Haven is seeking a Prevention Coordinator to expand community outreach, strengthen prevention initiatives, and build meaningful partnerships that support survivors and underserved populations. This role combines community education, volunteer training, program development, and collaboration with internal teams to advance Haven’s mission and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Community Education & Outreach
- Expand outreach efforts in rural and underserved communities.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and partners.
- Deliver domestic violence education tailored to community needs.
- Connect individuals with Haven services and resources.
- Represent Haven at community events and outreach activities.
- Lead youth-focused education partnerships and prevention programs.
- Coordinate the End the Silence survivor speakers’ bureau and related events.
- Monitor and engage with survivor support platforms.
- Track outreach activities and presentation data.
Volunteer Training & Development
- Design and deliver quarterly volunteer training programs.
- Develop and maintain training materials and educational resources.
Marketing & Development Support
- Assist with educational content and communications materials.
- Support donor and public engagement events.
- Collaborate with development and communications teams on awareness initiatives.
Program Coordination & Reporting
- Evaluate community engagement and prevention efforts.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare program reports.
- Collaborate with staff to support program goals and budgets.
- Participate in team meetings and organizational initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience in community outreach, education, advocacy, or prevention programming.
- Strong relationship-building and public presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse and underserved populations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and event-planning abilities.
- Commitment to survivor empowerment and violence prevention.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and community partnerships.
