The Role

Gifted Savings is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to provide strategic leadership across finance, operations, compliance, legal affairs, risk management, and human resources. Reporting to the Executive Director, the COO will help transform organizational vision into scalable systems, processes, and operational excellence while supporting continued growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Organizational Leadership & Strategy

  • Partner with the Executive Director to drive organizational strategy and execution.
  • Support leadership decision-making across programs, partnerships, and growth initiatives.
  • Identify and address operational, financial, and regulatory risks.

Finance & Financial Management

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Oversee financial controls, reporting, and compliance.
  • Support audit processes and financial governance.
  • Evaluate financial models for new initiatives and growth opportunities.

Legal, Risk & Compliance

  • Oversee legal, regulatory, and compliance activities.
  • Manage relationships with legal counsel, auditors, and compliance advisors.
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are integrated into products and operations.
  • Support compliant development of new financial platforms and services.

Operations & Infrastructure

  • Build scalable systems, workflows, and operational processes.
  • Manage vendors, contracts, and external partnerships.
  • Establish performance metrics and reporting frameworks.

People & Culture

  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee development.
  • Foster a collaborative, values-driven organizational culture.
  • Support managers in defining goals, accountability, and team effectiveness.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of leadership experience in operations, finance, or general management.
  • Strong expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and organizational management.
  • Experience working within legal, regulatory, or compliance environments.
  • Ability to build systems and scale operations in growing organizations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to guide decisions.
  • Commitment to expanding economic opportunity for young people.
