The Role

Place2Be is seeking a Trust and Grants Officer to join its fundraising team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and adaptable fundraising professional who is passionate about improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

Working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, you will help secure funding from charitable trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies to support Place2Be’s vital services. You will contribute to the development of compelling funding applications, maintain strong relationships with funders, and help demonstrate the impact of the organization’s work through high-quality reporting.

This role offers the opportunity to play a direct part in expanding access to mental health support for children and families across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

Trust and Grant Fundraising

  • Research and identify prospective trust and grant funding opportunities.
  • Prepare persuasive funding applications and proposals tailored to funder priorities.
  • Support the development of funding strategies to grow income from trusts and foundations.
  • Maintain accurate records of applications, deadlines, and funding outcomes.

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with existing and prospective funders.
  • Respond to funder enquiries and provide information about Place2Be’s work and impact.
  • Support stewardship activities to encourage long-term funding partnerships.

Reporting and Administration

  • Prepare timely and accurate reports for funders, demonstrating outcomes and impact.
  • Monitor grant requirements and ensure compliance with funding conditions.
  • Maintain fundraising databases and support effective grant management processes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to gather information and evidence for applications and reports.

Requirements

Candidates should have:

  • Experience in fundraising, grant management, or a similar role.
  • Strong written communication and proposal-writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and strong administrative abilities.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing.
  • A flexible, proactive, and collaborative approach to work.
