The Role
Forces Employment Charity is seeking a Communications Officer to help raise the charity’s profile through proactive media relations and compelling storytelling. Working within the Communications team, you will identify media opportunities, write press releases, pitch stories to journalists, and support integrated communications campaigns across national, regional, trade, and specialist media.
You will also interview veterans, service leavers, military spouses, and employers, transforming their experiences into engaging content for media, the website, social media, stakeholder communications, and funding reports.
Requirements
Essential
Experience in communications, public relations, media, or journalism.
Proven success securing media coverage across print, broadcast, and online platforms.
Excellent writing skills, including press releases, media briefings, and statements.
Strong understanding of news values and media relations.
Experience creating engaging content for diverse audiences.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience using media monitoring and evaluation tools.
