A legacy of giving: Windsor’s ‘Circle of Seven’

On Thursday Morning, Windsor was alive with a spirit of charity as a philanthropic circle known as ‘Circle of Seven’ donated a whopping amount of $60,000 to twenty local organizations. After establishing for over thirty years, this group has singlehandedly supported grassroots funding initiatives so that crucial programs in the community can be sustained.

Some of the recipient organizations include Autism Windsor-Essex, United Way, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Morgan’s Messy Miracles, Leone Residence, Windsor-Essex Therapeutic Riding Association, and the Windsor-Essex Humane Society. These funds were raised through the Denim and Diamonds Gala, the annual Circle of Seven Golf Tournament, and other community-driven events.

The donations made by the Circle of Seven are targeted at small local organizations because they strongly believe these are the true fundamental sources of support needed by communities. Many of the charities they help focus on assisting the most vulnerable populations including children, the disabled, and families in crisis. 

Their generosity captures the attention of the residents and encourages them to be more active in their community. 

Moreover, one of the many organizations that have greatly benefited from the Circle of Seven’s charity is the Riverside Minor Baseball Association which makes use of the support given to them to keep the Miracle League and Make-a-Miracle League running. The association’s treasurer, Bill Kell has expressed his deep appreciation for the support they receive. 

“The Circle of Seven has been around for a long time, and we’re honored to be associated with them,” he said. “Their contribution to our programs and the upkeep of Miracle Park is invaluable.”

Beyond financial contributions, the Circle of Seven plays an essential role in fostering a culture of giving in the Windsor-Essex region. Their work highlights the power of community-driven philanthropy, ensuring that local charities have the resources they need to keep making a difference.
