IKEA Offers $40,000 Grant to Non-Profits for its 40th Anniversary

IKEA has announced through its website that it will be offering an additional $40,000 to one of its partner non-profits through its Vote for Impact Campaign. This is in celebration of IKEA’s 40th anniversary.

The partner non-profits that are eligible for this donation include the American Red Cross, Family Promise, Good360, Rainbow Railroad, Save the Children, and the Trevor Project. The winner of the donation will be decided via votes cast on the furniture giant’s website.

However, participation in the campaign is limited to the United States and is guided by U.S. laws. Only legal residents of the United States who are at least 18 years old can vote.

“Through our Vote for Impact campaign, you can help decide which organization will receive an additional $40,000 donation. Read their stories, choose a cause that speaks to you and vote online by 1/31. Let’s make more dreams possible – together,” read the announcement by IKEA.

Eligible individuals can vote for their preferred non-profit on IKEA’s website. The voting process ends on January 31, 2026 and IKEA will announce the winner of the Vote for Impact Campaign on February 4, 2026.

Corporate Partnership with Non-Profits

IKEA has a long history of partnering with non-profits for the purpose of promoting several social causes. The IKEA Foundation has given over €1.5 Billion in grants between 2009 and 2021.

One of IKEA’s major partners over the years is UNICEF. In 2022, the furniture conglomerate contributed €1 million to support UNICEF emergency relief efforts in Ukraine.

Donations to non-profits are one of the avenues that corporate organisations employ to participate in corporate social responsibility. These initiatives empower non-profits with resources to further help them achieve their goals.

The United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) highlights environmental management, eco-efficiency, and responsible sourcing as key corporate social responsibility issues. Corporate social responsibility initiatives can also give competitive advantages to corporate entities.

Some other corporate organisations that are known for their partnership with non-profit organisations include: Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Google, Unilever, and Nestle. The UN Global Compact, a voluntary corporate sustainability initiative, sometimes facilitates major collaborations between corporate organisations and non-profits.
