The residents of Berkshire have been allowed to make a difference by nominating their favorite charities to participate in the £1 million funding. This is made possible by the Benefact Group’s annual initiative, The Movement for Good Awards which provides grants to charitable organizations across the UK.
Berkshire residents: Supporting local charities
The Movement of Good Awards whose aim is to empower charities in the region by providing vital financial support has decided this year that the charities that win the funding will be selected randomly from the people’s nominations and each will receive a £5,000 funding award. This way, the Benefact Group will ensure that all the eligible charities, regardless of size will have an equal chance of benefiting from the funding.
Berkshire residents can submit nominations at https://movementforgood.com. Previous beneficiaries include Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue, a critical support unit for Thames Valley Police that specializes in search-and-rescue operations across the region.
A spokesperson from the Benefact Group has emphasized the significant impact of the program, highlighting that these grants often provide the smaller charities with the resources they lack to sustain and expand their operations.
“For many charities, a £1,000 grant can make a significant difference in the services they provide,” he noted.
The Benefact Group
Since its inception in 2039, the Movement for Good Award has donated over £6 million to charity causes across the UK and Ireland. The Benefact Group, recognized as one of the UK’s largest corporate charity donors, has contributed over £230 million to various initiatives and aims to reach £250 million by 2025.
With its strong track record of supporting impactful initiatives including their recent Cornish initiative similar to this, the Movement for Good Awards continues to be a vital source of funding for charities in need. Residents are encouraged to take part and ensure that local organizations in Berkshire receive the support they deserve.
