Chancellor’s Graduate Research Grant 2026 – Apply Now

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Graduate Student Assembly is accepting applications for the Chancellor’s Graduate Research Grant (CGRG) for the Spring 2026 cycle. This funding program supports graduate and professional students by enabling research progress, professional engagement, and timely degree completion.

About the Chancellor’s Graduate Research Grant

The Chancellor’s Graduate Research Grant is an initiative of the Graduate Student Assembly at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The program is designed to expand access to research opportunities and professional development activities while enhancing the visibility of student scholarship through research dissemination and conference participation.

Funding Size

Two award categories are available:

Travel Awards
• Domestic travel support: up to $800
• International travel support: up to $1,000

Research Activities Awards
• Up to $300 per student for research expenses directly related to completing a Master’s or PhD degree

Who Can Apply

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Be a graduate or professional student enrolled in the Graduate College at UNL
• Be in good academic standing at the time of application
• Complete all funded travel or research activities prior to graduation
• Have received no more than one Travel Award per academic year
• Submit only one CGRG application per semester (Fall or Spring)

Geographic eligibility

This grant is limited to students currently enrolled at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in the United States.

Sector or thematic focus

Funding supports:

• Conference travel and approved professional or research-related activities
• Research project expenses that directly contribute to degree completion

Application Process

Applicants must complete the appropriate online application for either the Travel Award or the Research Activities Award. Applications require a clear explanation of how the funds will support research goals, academic progress, or professional engagement.

• Written justification or proposal describing the purpose of the funding
