The Connected Communities Fund is an ongoing grant program that supports nonprofits with up to $140,000 in funding. The foundation focuses on assisting communities in the Gladstone region in improving their community wellbeing, strengthening their capacity and ensuring safety. Applications are currently open, and they will close on March 8, 2026. 

About The Connected Communities Fund

The Connected Communities Fund is sponsored by the Gladstone Regional Council. The grant offers two rounds of funding each year, with the current one closing in March. The funding program supports nonprofit organisations around the Gladstone region to complete high-impact projects and initiatives that benefit the communities. 

The aim of the grant is to strengthen the community, increase its capacity and strategic planning, improve health care and the well-being of the residents. This large grant priotises high risk projects that are new and innovative. The projects msut not have been establsihed or completed by the application is submitted.

Who Can Apply for the Connected Communities Fund

  • Eligible organisation types:
  • Nonprofit organisation
  • Registration requirements:
  • Projects must align with one of the focus areas of the foundation.
  • Applicants must be nonprofit organisations.
  • They must be based and operate within the Gladstone Region.
  • Applicants must show proof that they can handle up to 30% of the project.
  • Organisations must have a current Australian Business Number (ABN).
  • Projects must be new initiatives that have never been implemented before.

Application Process

  1. Visit the foundation and read through the guidelines before submitting an application.
  2. Submit an expression of interest form (EOI) through the grant portal.
  3. Applicants will be invited to further complete their applications and attach necessary documents.
  4. Applications can be submitted online, and applicants will receive an email notification to confirm receipt.
