The Cornwall residents are currently being summoned to participate in nominating their favorite charitable organization for the chance to win a share of the £1 million funding from the Movement for Good Awards.
This award, which is organized by the Benefact Group, is an annual initiative that is aimed at supporting charities across the UK and empowering them with the financial aid needed to continue their impactful work.
£1 million fund benefits to Cornish charities
The 7-year-old Movement for Good Award program gives the residents authority to nominate charities in the area deserving of £1,000 donations, after which the winners will be selected at random hence enabling all the eligible charities an equal opportunity to be selected. Additionally, there a special sector-specific grants that will be available with the winners announced throughout the year.
Since it started its operations in 2019, the organization has shared over £6 million to different causes in the UK and Ireland. Thanks to over 11,100 previous nominations submitted by the public, Some Cornwall-based charities such as the Prickles and Paws Hedgehog, Tamar Donkey Sanctuary, and Histiocytosis UK have all benefited from this program at one time or another.
Mark Hews, the ground chief executive of the Benefact Group stressed the group’s ethos, pointing out that all profits made were being directed towards a good cause. He also highlighted the organization’s commitment to charitable giving.
