After 13 years of dedicated leadership, Hannah Shead is stepping down as the CEO of Trevi, a charity that has grown under her guidance into a vital support system for thousands of women. Shead, who has been instrumental in expanding Trevi’s reach and advocacy efforts, assures that the organization remains in capable hands as she prepares for a new chapter.

The growth and advocacy legacy of Hannah Shead

Before coming on board, Trevi had just one service and supported approximately 30 women each year, but today, with Shead’s contribution, it boasts four centers and two outreach programs. In addition to these services, she has also been an ardent campaigner and advocated for women’s and girl’s rights to end all forms of male violence, ensuring that many unheard voices are allowed to speak.

While reminiscing about her journey, Shead acknowledged the difficulty of leaving but expressed confidence in Trevi’s future.

“I adore the charity and have had great experiences with it over the last 13 years, but now I believe that it’s time for a new direction and different management,” she commented.

A new dawn for Trevi

Trevi has received several accolades during Shead’s tenure, such as the GSK Impact Award in 2020 and the Westcountry Women’s Award for Combatting Violence against Women and Girls. She continues to take pride in the Charity’s role in advocating violence against women and ensuring that their needs, as well as voices, are fully recognized and addressed.

With Shead’s optimism comes the appointment of Amanda Greenwood as the new CEO with undoubted hope for Trevi’s future.

“Letting go will be difficult, but I’m excited to see what’s next. I’ll be cheering from the sidelines,” she said.
