As a result of the armed conflict, the northeastern region of Gaza has suffered cataclysmic losses, leaving the makeshift clinic erected in the remains of Kamal Adwan hospital as the only operational hospital in the region. Here, the doctors are left to work under the most extreme conditions to provide urgent medical assistance to the patients.
Kamal Adwan hospital on the brink of collapse
Due to the lack of quasi-surgical facilities, soldiers and humanitarian workers have been forced to create new ones in the hope of minimizing loss of life. With the few resources remaining, makeshift clinics have been established to give aid to those with treatable severe injuries and patients who require additional resources and medicine to expedite the healing process.

Health workers reveal that circumstance have left the doctors and health workers underprepared and overwhelmed with more patients needing medical assistance.
“Every single day we are further and further from resolving the issue at hand with what little resources we have left,” was the response given by a physician who’s working out of these clinics.
Plea for humanitarian assistance
With time, the critical state of this area left with no assistance has led to international organizations calling for urgent military intervention to provide humanitarian resources such as fresh water and medicine. As it stands, physicians have a limited supply of the needed medical devices as well as resources to execute simple tasks such as clean water.
Despite the overwhelming challenges, the medical teams have remained determined to do the most they can.
“We are here to save lives, no matter the obstacles,” one volunteer said. However, without immediate intervention, northern Gaza’s last remaining medical lifeline is at risk of collapse.
