The allegations against the media personality and show host Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu Wazobia, have ignited a firestorm of controversy with his management team and supporters rushing to defend his reputation. Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Thursday, February 20, he firmly denied the accusations levied against him of fraud and financial misconduct surrounding his charity initiative, the Nedu Scholarship Foundation (NDSCHF).

Nedu is a Nigerian radio personality, broadcast journalist, TV presenter, actor, comedian, and content creator known for delivering the daily news on Wazobia FM 94.1 in Pidgin English.

“Nedu Wazobia and Tokindrumz Management unequivocally refute all allegations of fraud concerning the Nedu Scholarship Foundation (NDSCHF); all funds for the NDSCHF initiative were managed by a globally recognized social enterprise, ensuring full accountability. At no point did Nedu personally handle or control donations, comprehensive financial documents, vendor agreements, and communications have been submitted to relevant authorities and are available for review,” the statement read.
The Chief Operations Officer of Tokindrumz, Sarah Williams-Konha, said they would not stay silent and that legal measures were unavoidable. She addressed the allegations against Nedu as not just petty issues, stating a line has been crossed and that they will not tolerate any further attacks on his character. She said their lawyers would take action to address these false accusations.

Amid the controversy, Nedu assures the public that he will not allow his reputation to be smeared by baseless allegations, and he will stay true to his commitment to education, philanthropy, and positively impacting society. Sarah Williams said that for clarity’s sake, she would like to state that Nedu has not committed any form of financial malpractice.
She clarified that all donations were handled by a third-party organization clearing his name. She said Nedu clearly stated that donations shouldn’t be made to his account for transparency’s sake.
