About The IMD Multimodal Planning Program 2026

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has launched its annual Integrated Mobility Division (IMD) grant funding. The purpose of the grant is to support bicycle and pedestrian projects in North Carolina. Municipalities can apply regardless of the population size. However, counties with a population of more than 100,000 cannot apply for the grant. Universities and colleges can also apply and get funded. Only one application per community is allowed for each funding year.
