Depaul USA is a faith-inspired national nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness and transforming lives through compassionate, practical support. Founded in 2009 as part of the global Depaul International Group, the organization has grown from a single program in Philadelphia to operating 27 programs across 12 U.S. cities. Headquartered in Chicago, Depaul USA serves more than 7,600 people annually through supportive housing, affordable housing, medical respite, day programs, and social enterprise initiatives. Guided by Vincentian values of dignity, compassion, and service, the organization works to improve health, economic stability, and long-term housing outcomes for people experiencing homelessness.

The Role

Depaul USA is seeking a mission-driven executive leader to guide the organization through its next phase of growth and impact. This role will serve as the chief ambassador for the organization, providing strategic leadership across operations, fundraising, financial stewardship, and team development while ensuring the mission remains at the center of all decision-making.

The successful candidate will lead geographically dispersed teams, strengthen organizational performance, and build consensus around strategic priorities. They will also work closely with the Board of Directors to advance Depaul USA’s vision and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the overall strategic direction and operational performance of the organization.
Serve as the primary public representative and brand ambassador for Depaul USA.
Drive fundraising efforts and diversify revenue streams to support growth.
Develop and manage organizational budgets and financial priorities.
Foster collaboration and alignment across teams operating in multiple locations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
Promote innovative and effective approaches to addressing homelessness.
Work closely with the Board of Directors to support governance and organizational success.

Requirements

Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience required; an MBA or other graduate qualification is preferred.
At least 10 years of senior leadership experience.
Demonstrated success in fundraising and resource development.
Strong financial management and budgeting expertise.
Experience leading multi-site teams and complex operations.
Proven ability to work effectively with nonprofit boards.
Excellent relationship-building, communication, and consensus-building skills.
Commitment to Depaul USA’s mission and values.
Ability to travel approximately 20–25%, including one to two international trips annually.

What They Offer

Salary of $150,000–$165,000.
