The Role
Alzheimer’s Research UK is seeking a Clinical Research Manager to support its Clinical Accelerator Programme and drug prioritization activities. Reporting within the Research Directorate, you will identify and evaluate promising therapies, manage research initiatives, engage stakeholders, and help advance treatments toward clinical trials. This is a hybrid role based near Cambridge.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Research & Drug Prioritization
Identify and evaluate promising dementia therapies.
Develop scientific dossiers and evidence summaries.
Monitor global drug development and emerging research opportunities.
Support advisory panels and prioritization activities.
Programme Development & Strategy
Contribute to the Clinical Accelerator Programme strategy.
Track research trends and identify gaps and opportunities.
Prepare reports for senior leadership and governance groups.
Promote involvement of people affected by dementia in research activities.
Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
Build relationships with researchers, funders, biotech, and pharmaceutical partners.
Collaborate with internal teams including Communications, Fundraising, and Policy.
Represent the organization at meetings and sector events.
Requirements
PhD in a relevant biomedical field or equivalent research experience.
Strong understanding of clinical research and drug development processes.
Ability to critically evaluate pre-clinical and clinical data.
Experience managing research projects and stakeholder relationships.
Excellent scientific writing and communication skills.
Knowledge of dementia research and funding environments is desirable.
Experience working with biotech or pharmaceutical organizations is an advantage.
