The Role
PACT is hiring a Communications and Engagement Officer to help shape and share the stories that reflect the organization’s impact across adoption, family support, and trauma recovery services. Based in Reading with hybrid working arrangements, this full-time role supports external communications, brand awareness, fundraising engagement, and audience development.
The successful candidate will produce engaging content across digital and print channels, support fundraising campaigns, and ensure communications align with PACT’s mission and values. This is an opportunity for a creative and proactive communications professional to contribute to meaningful work that changes lives.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Strategy and Leadership
Produce communications and marketing materials that demonstrate PACT’s impact and values
Create content for social media, newsletters, press releases, websites, and internal communications
Capture and share lived experiences across multiple communication channels
Ensure all communications align with organizational branding and messaging
Donor Engagement and Major Gifts
Support fundraising appeals, campaigns, and engagement challenges
Raise awareness of PACT’s services and organizational mission
Develop audience engagement strategies across digital platforms
Use analytics and insights to improve reach and engagement
Campaign Culture and Ecosystem Building
Collaborate with the Communications and Engagement team to strengthen audience connection
Maintain PACT’s reputation as a sector leader through innovation and initiative
Create accessible, engaging, and informative communications materials
Contribute to a collaborative and mission-driven working environment
Requirements
Experience using social media for organizational and event promotion
Knowledge of analytics and digital insight tools
Experience using WordPress content management systems
Familiarity with Mailchimp for email marketing
Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar design tools
Knowledge of CRM systems such as Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge
Strong written communication and creative content development skills
Ability to present information clearly, accessibly, and engagingly
Proactive and innovative approach to communications and engagement
What They Offer
Salary range between £26,508 and £32,397 per year
Hybrid working with at least one day per week in the Reading office
Permanent full-time contract working 37 hours per week
