The Role
Shaftesbury is seeking a Content Officer to create and share compelling stories that highlight the experiences of the people it supports. Working closely with care and education teams, you will develop engaging content across digital and print channels, helping to increase awareness, strengthen supporter engagement, and demonstrate the impact of the organization’s work.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop beneficiary stories for a range of audiences.
- Create content for social media, blogs, newsletters, and marketing materials.
- Ensure storytelling is ethical, authentic, and aligned with organizational values.
- Work with teams across the organization to gather content and impact stories.
- Adapt content for different platforms and communication channels.
- Support engagement, awareness, and fundraising objectives through effective storytelling.
Requirements
- Experience in content creation, communications, or storytelling roles.
- Excellent written communication and editing skills.
- Strong understanding of audience engagement and digital content.
- Ability to tailor messaging for different platforms and audiences.
- Experience working sensitively with vulnerable individuals and communities.
- Passion for creating meaningful content that drives impact.
