The Role

SCDA is seeking a Finance Director to provide strategic financial leadership and oversee the effective management of the charity’s finances. As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will lead financial planning, compliance, risk management and contract oversight while managing the finance team and supporting the delivery of SCDA’s mission. This is a permanent, part-time role based in Newhaven with hybrid working available after induction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial advice across the organisation.
  • Lead and manage the finance team.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial planning and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, statutory and audit requirements.
  • Provide financial, contract and risk management guidance.
  • Support strategic decision-making as a member of the Senior Management Team.
  • Ensure the effective financial management of the charity’s services and enterprises.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant.
  • Senior-level finance leadership experience.
  • Understanding of third-sector funding and charity finance.
  • Strong financial, contract and risk management expertise.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Commitment to supporting a community-focused organisation.
