The Role

SSAFA is seeking a Senior People Officer to deliver a high-quality HR service across the organisation. Reporting across the People & Organisational Development function, you will provide expert advice to managers and employees throughout the employee lifecycle, with a focus on employee relations, wellbeing, engagement, inclusion, organisational change and policy development. This hybrid role is based in London with flexibility for remote working and occasional travel to the central office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide HR advice and support across the employee lifecycle.
  • Manage employee relations cases, including probation, conduct, grievance, sickness and wellbeing matters.
  • Coach and influence managers on people-related issues and best practices.
  • Support wellbeing, engagement and inclusion initiatives across the organisation.
  • Contribute to organisational change projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with the development and review of HR policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with Learning & Organisational Development, People Systems, Internal Communications and other corporate teams.
  • Help deliver an excellent employee experience across the charity.

Requirements

  • Experience in a generalist HR role.
  • Knowledge of employee relations and case management.
  • Experience supporting managers on people-related matters.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative approach with sound judgement and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to improving employee experience and supporting organisational goals.
