About
The Korea Foundation is a South Korean public foundation established in 1991 to promote international understanding of Korea and strengthen cultural and intellectual ties between Korea and other countries. Based in Seoul, it works with universities, cultural institutions, governments and civil society organizations around the world to expand international exchange and cooperation.
Its programs support Korean studies and language education, cultural and artistic exchanges, academic and policy dialogue, and international networking. The foundation provides grants and other assistance to universities, researchers, museums, cultural organizations and overseas institutions seeking to develop programs related to Korea. Through initiatives such as Korean language and area studies support, exhibitions, fellowships and international forums, it helps build lasting connections between Korean society and communities abroad.
