Kuonyesha Art Fund Grants – Apply Now

Kuonyesha Art Fund Grants supports artists, performers and creatives in Africa with up to UGX 20,000,000 for Uganda applicants or USD 5,000 for participants outside Uganda. The grant seeks to promote artistic work and production throughout the African region. The application deadline for the 2026-2027 cycle ends on February 28, 2026, and it is open to all creatives and artists who work on the African continent.

About The Kuonyesha Art Fund Grants

The art grants are managed by CIVSOURCE Africa, a foundation that works to strengthen cultural initiatives across Africa. The grant seeks to promote creative arts and cultural projects across the African continent. The funding grant also supports artistic freedom, civic expression and underrepresentation. 

Applicants must submit between 3 and 10 short video clips and images as part of their portfolio. Artists can also submit manuscripts and other supporting documents to showcase their work. Applications are reviewed by the foundation’s board, and successful applicants will receive notifications.

  • Typical grant amount: UGX 20,000,000 for applicants in Uganda, and under USD 5,000 for applicants outside Uganda.
