The MIDORI Prize for Biodiversity awards individuals from around the world who have contributed immensely to conservation and biodiversity initiatives. About The MIDORI Prize for Biodiversity

The MIDORI Prize for Biodiversity was launched in 2010, and it is sponsored by the AEON Environmental Foundation in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (SCBD). 

The prize recognises individual efforts in conserving biodiversity and in its sustainable use. The issue of biodiversity, as well as environmental issues such as climate change, are some of the critical challenges that the world faces. 

The foundation awards successful recipients with prize money up to $100,000 and an award plaque. The award ceremony will hold on August 27, 2026, in Tokyo, Japan.
