One senior-ranking INGO staff member was abducted by unidentified gunmen as he was returning from a school where he was providing services. UPDATE: The staff member has been located in Gulran district of Herat province, and Afghan officials are working with district elders to try to secure his release. Twelve people have been arrested in connection to his kidnapping. The INGO has suspended services in Afghanistan. UPDATE 2: The INGO staff member was released in February 2015 after 264 days.
