One female UN international staff member was walking to work in the Al Riyadh area of Khartoum when she was attacked by two men on a motorcycle. The men dragged her behind the motorcycle for a distance and then physically assaulted her, biting off her thumb in the attack. The aid worker had to be medically evacuated to Nairobi to receive treatment for extensive injuries. Robbery is the suspected motive for the attack. Means of attack recorded as bodily assault.
