One international staff member of a UN agency was wounded in Yirol East during a medical mission. Their car was ambushed along the Shambe-Karair road by unidentified men. There were two fatalities as a result of this incident and three others were wounded (not aid workers as defined by the AWSD). The injured staff member was MEDEVACed from Yirol West in order to receive medical attention for a gunshot wound. Means of attack not recorded. Context ambush.
