Six aid workers killed and two kidnapped in Sheberghan

Six ICRC staff workers of Afghan nationality have been shot and killed by gunmen in the northern province of Jawzjan. Two more staff members were abducted. The attack on the convoy occurred south of Shibergan while the aid workers were transporting relief supplies to areas affected by the recent snowstorm. The abducted aid workers were released around the 5th of September, 2017. Means of attack recorded as shooting. Context ambush. Actor Islamic State (IS).
