Three INGO staff (an international doctor, a national doctor, and a national staffer) were ambushed and kidnapped while travelling north on a secondary road towards Surobi town. They were held until 8 December, when negotiations led to the release of the 2 local staff, and an IMF operation forcibly rescued the foreign doctor. The crime was reportedly motivated by economic gains, but there were AOG elements/actors present. Means of attack recorded as kidnapping. Context ambush.
