5 killed
A joint WFP and UNICEF convoy of fifteen trucks was attacked overnight while parked roughly 80 kilometres from El Fasher, waiting for clearance to complete a journey of more than 1,800 kilometres from Port Sudan. Five Sudanese contractors were killed and several more people were injured. Multiple trucks were burned and nutrition and food supplies were destroyed. It would have been the first UN humanitarian convoy to reach El Fasher in over a year. The route had been shared in advance with parties on the ground.
