Targeting the distribution of 60,000 high-quality warm blankets, the Uday Foundation is organizing a campaign to address the cold-weather risks faced by the homeless. The drive specifically targets people living on streets, at construction sites, under flyovers, and in government hospitals.

According to information published on the official website, the foundation plans to extend its blanket distribution beyond Delhi NCR to other parts of North India during the 2024-2025 winter season. In addition to blankets, Uday Foundation will distribute essential rations and dignity kits to beneficiaries.

The organisation described the initiative as part of its broader humanitarian response.

“Our Blanket Donation Campaign is a testament to our commitment, aiming to distribute high-quality warm blankets, essential rations, and dignity kits to those on the streets,” the website noted, adding that the programme will run during the 2024–2025 winter season.

The organisation shared details of the campaign through its official X account, imploring support for blanket donations as a means of providing warmth to individuals living on the streets.

Uday Foundation also confirmed that it will document distributions across identified high-need locations. These locations include public hospitals, roadside settlements, and temporary shelters near active construction zones.

The organisation added that corporate donors will receive fund utilisation certificates in line with CSR norms. Individual contributors will also receive documentation under Section 80G following successful donations.

Foundation’s Origins and Mission

The Uday Foundation was established by Rahul and Tulika Verma, following their personal experiences with their son Arjun’s medical challenges. Born in 2006 with multiple congenital defects, Arjunuday underwent nine correction surgeries and eleven hospital stays. The family’s journey through the healthcare system informed their commitment to supporting vulnerable populations.

Rahul Verma currently manages the foundation with a team, while Tulika Verma continues her professional work to support the family. The organisation focuses on providing essential services to disadvantaged communities across India

The 2025 winter campaign represents the foundation’s ongoing effort to address immediate survival needs during cold months. For many homeless individuals, access to warm blankets constitutes a critical resource during winter nights when temperatures fall significantly.
