The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust generates over £12,000 for Childhood Cancer Trust through a Treecycle Campaign

In January, as part of its fifth Treecycle Campaign, the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust remarkably made an impact by collecting trees across Worcestershire and Herefordshire, generating more than £12,000. The yearly fundraising drive enables the charity to support families dealing with childhood cancer.

This year, the trust received 658 bookings for unwanted Christmas trees to be picked up from driveways, hedges, and front gardens. Residents donated the fee for the collection, which was carried out by a group of volunteers from Thursday, January 9, to Sunday, January 12.

The campaign was bolstered by several community businesses, which helped collect and chip the trees.

“We are incredibly thankful for the unwavering support from all our corporate and community volunteers who played a pivotal role in our fifth annual Christmas Treecycling Campaign.

“Whether you collected Christmas trees, provided a tree chipping location, or distributed flyers on our behalf, your efforts have made this year’s Treecycle the best yet,” said Charity fundraiser Abbie Bissell-Blazier.

Emma Cleal of Be More Frank, a named fund of the trust, coordinated the Hereford and Powys tree collections, Ms Cleal said.

“We’re so delighted to have extended the reach for Treecycle 2025. It’s our third consecutive year, and £2k was raised for Be More Frank, which is just amazing from a group of people who are prepared to give their time and effort to help.

“The biggest thanks to everybody who booked with us and every volunteer. Recycling is not a glamorous job, but you were all so cheery and positive.”
