Professional athletes and running enthusiasts will converge on the Czech capital this weekend for the third edition of the Prague charity race aimed at supporting Ukraine’s community needs.
The race will take place on Sunday, March 8, at Juliska Stadium’s professional athletic oval, with organisers expecting a strong turnout for the fundraising initiative.
Prague charity race categories cater to all fitness levels for the Ukraine solidarity event
According to Mezha News, the Military Chancellery of the President of the Czech Republic provides patronage for the event. It also enjoys support from the Prague 6 City District, the Czech community, and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic.
The ASC Dukla Praha sports club has provided the venue for the one-day event, which runs from 09:00 to 17:00. Organisers have designed multiple participation categories to accommodate varying fitness levels.
A mass run or walk welcomes all comers for an entry fee of 100 Kč. More competitive participants can register for the one-hour run featuring professional timing by Irontime at 300 Kč.
Additionally, a virtual race option allows supporters worldwide to join online from February 24 to March 15 for 100 Kč.
“There is no such thing as bad weather,” organisers declared.
They also emphasize their commitment to solidarity with Ukraine’s running community, regardless of conditions on the day.
All proceeds to support Ukrainian communities amid the fight for independence
All proceeds from entry fees and voluntary donations will support Ukraine’s community needs as the country continues its fight for independence. Registration details will follow in official announcements.
The Prague event mirrors similar solidarity runs worldwide. This includes initiatives where Wellington’s Ukrainian community, New Zealanders, and European diplomats have participated.
In another development, a Peppa Pig character will be participating in the London Marathon to raise funds for deaf children. The initiative will help support about 54,000 kids.
Meanwhile, Invest For Kids Chicago Grants2026 provides eligible Chicago nonprofits with funding of up to $200,000. The grant seeks to support young people from low-income households by giving them access to education from early childhood to college.
