In 2025, as Lancashire Mind celebrates its 25th anniversary, the charity is setting ambitious goals to support more than 10,000 individuals across Lancashire. With a focus on mental health, Lancashire Mind is set to expand its reach and services, ensuring that mental health support remains accessible to all who need it.

Since its inception in 2000, Lancashire Mind has been a leader in offering transformative services across the region. In 2024 alone, the charity helped over 7,000 people, including providing housing support for more than 80 individuals and assisting over 1,000 young people through mental health education in schools.

Lancashire Mind’s commitment to mental health support is evident in its continuous efforts to reach more people yearly.

Transforming communities with culturally sensitive mental health services

One key area of focus for Lancashire Mind in 2025 is continuing to develop culturally sensitive services for underserved communities. The charity recently introduced a new service to support South Asian communities in addressing mental health in a way that resonates with their cultural values.

Additionally, Lancashire Mind runs anti-stigma projects to break down barriers around mental health discussions, creating a safe space for seeking help. Chief Executive David Dunwell emphasized, “The need for our services has never been higher; we’re constantly working with communities and stakeholders to ensure that individuals across Lancashire can access the support they need, especially as the demand for mental health services grows.”

A future of accessible mental health support for all

In line with its vision for 2025, Lancashire Mind is rolling out new campaigns to raise awareness about mental health and the charity’s services. The charity will tell the stories of people whose lives have been transformed through its support, highlighting the region’s critical need for mental health care.

Alongside these campaigns, Lancashire Mind will host a series of fundraising events to help sustain its services and expand its reach. The charity’s innovative approach to mental health focuses on early intervention and prevention.

By offering affordable therapy services, Lancashire Mind assists individuals in receiving the care they need without the burden of financial stress. This approach aims to alleviate the pressure on the NHS, where waiting lists are often long, and provide timely support to those struggling with mental health challenges.
