About
Fundación FEMSA is the philanthropic organization of FEMSA, established in 2008 to promote sustainable development and improve quality of life in the communities where the company operates. Its work is concentrated in Latin America, where it seeks long-term solutions to social and environmental challenges through partnerships with governments, communities, civil society organizations, academic institutions and other private-sector partners.
Today, the foundation focuses on three main areas: water security, early childhood and the circular economy. Its water initiatives address access to water and sanitation, ecosystem conservation and local capacity building, while its early childhood work supports children’s development, caregivers and more inclusive public spaces. Through its circular economy efforts, Fundación FEMSA promotes waste recovery, innovation and changes in consumption and production practices. The organization operates primarily as a funding and collaboration platform, investing financial and nonfinancial resources in projects designed to be innovative, replicable and scalable across the region.
