About
The Ian Potter Foundation is an Australian philanthropic foundation established in 1964 through a bequest from businessman and philanthropist Sir Ian Potter. Based in Melbourne, it supports organizations and initiatives that strengthen Australian communities, with grantmaking spanning social welfare, education, health, science, the environment and the arts.
Its funding is directed toward projects that address community needs, develop new approaches and build the capacity of nonprofit organizations. The foundation provides grants for areas including disability, youth, Indigenous communities, medical research, conservation, cultural institutions and community services. It also supports capital works and equipment alongside program funding, allowing organizations to develop facilities, expand services and improve their long-term ability to serve the communities in which they operate.
