The Murray Jackson Clinical Fellowship backs oncology clinicians in New Zealand who want to deepen their research expertise without stepping away from clinical practice. It is one of New Zealand’s most prestigious cancer medicine awards, designed to produce the next generation of clinician researchers who will advance cancer care from within the healthcare system.
About the Murray Jackson Clinical Fellowship Program
Administered by the Cancer Research Trust New Zealand, the fellowship is aimed at medical graduates at a stage in their career where dedicated research time would meaningfully accelerate their development as both a clinician and a scientist. The program is intentionally broad across cancer disciplines, covering medical and surgical oncology specialties, and expects fellows to emerge from the experience as established clinician researchers practicing in New Zealand. Only one fellowship is typically awarded per year, reflecting both its value and its selectivity.
