Willem Duisenberg Fellowship – Apply Now

The Willem Duisenberg Fellowship offers a prestigious opportunity for economists and public policy researchers to conduct independent research. The fellowship allows scholars to focus fully on their research while engaging with the international academic community. Named after the first President of the European Central Bank, it promotes rigorous economic scholarship and global academic exchange.

About the Willem Duisenberg Fellowship

The fellowship allows researchers to pursue original projects without the routine obligations of standard academic positions. Fellows join NIAS’s academic community and participate in seminars and workshops. The programme encourages research that contributes to academic debates and informs economic policy.

While the fellowship is primarily aimed at mid- to late-career researchers, exceptionally talented early-career scholars with a strong track record are also eligible. Fellows are expected to reside in Amsterdam and dedicate themselves full-time to research, contributing to the intellectual life of the institute. NIAS provides a good scholarly environment that supports both individual research outputs and professional networking.
