Pop star Taylor Swift and NFL tight end Travis Kelce donated $26 million to at least 20 charities this week, with the announcement coming days before their reported wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York. The gifts spanned food banks, children’s hospitals, educational programs and animal welfare organizations across the United States.
Food security front and center
Nine of the 20 recipient organizations are food banks, several tied to cities where the couple has personal connections. Feeding America received $2 million, while City Harvest and the Rhode Island Community Food Bank each confirmed receiving $1 million donations.
“We are incredibly grateful for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s generous $1 million donation to City Harvest,” said Jilly Stephens, City Harvest’s CEO.
“This donation is a love letter to New York, and a bold commitment to our efforts to ensure that no New Yorker goes hungry. Their support comes at a critical time, with visits to New York City soup kitchens and food pantries near record highs.”
The timing carries added weight. The Helping Harvest Fresh Food Bank in Reading, Pennsylvania, Swift’s home state, said it is on pace to distribute 14 million pounds of food in 2026, up from a record 11.1 million pounds in 2025. Taylor Swift donates to causes beyond hunger
Beyond food security, the couple directed funds toward three children’s hospitals, including MSK Kids, the pediatric cancer program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Seven educational programs also received donations, among them Musical Mentors, a nonprofit connecting music teachers with students in need, and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library literacy program.
The ASPCA confirmed receiving a donation as well, sharing a statement thanking the couple for support that would fund shelter care and second chances for vulnerable animals.
“This meaningful donation will help provide lifesaving care, shelter and second chances for vulnerable animals across the country,” the ASPCA said.
Swift has a documented history of large-scale charitable giving, having donated to food banks during her record-breaking Eras Tour and to disaster relief efforts following hurricanes, tornadoes and wildfires. Kelce operates his own nonprofit and has previously been recognized by the Kansas City Chiefs for his charitable work. Their combined giving this week reflects a broader trend of celebrities using major personal milestones to direct public attention toward sustained charitable causes.
